Catchall Creatives: 2022 Goals

2021 ... what a year it has been! There was some personal and professional growth: I got married and I hit 2 years with my full time job. Catchall Creatives was started with low expectations. The hope was to at the very least have a space to share my art. In my head I thought to myself, "It would be really cool to sell at least one of my paintings this year, or get to do at least one commission." At the end of this year, after launching on January 23rd, I did close to about 30 commissions, sold more than just one of my original paintings, did three art shows, and gained valuable knowledge. God is so good and has blessed this journey already.

2021 brought a lot of excitement for what's to come in the future. Catchall Creatives has opened many different opportunities in the art world, and 2022 will be filled of actually taking those chances and putting myself fully out there as an artist, while also bringing my Catchall Community along the journey with me. As I write my 2022 goals, the main thing I'm keeping in mind is how can I inspire the small community I've built so far to get outside of their comfort zone when it comes to creativity!

Expressing your creativity can mean many different things to different people, and finding that within yourself is what I want to encourage you to ignite and to run with it. So with all that in mind, here are my 2022 goals - please share your goals with me and hold me accountable to mine, as I would love to do the same for you! :)

2022 Goals

2022 ... as I said, this will be the year of putting myself out there more and seeing my full potential. I want to push myself outside and beyond my comfort zone more than ever.

1. Stay organized
  • I am the worst procrastinator ever when it comes to cleaning. With my full time job as a project manager you would think that I would be more disciplined and "type A", but I'm one of the rare ones haha! This year, I am making it a priority to stay organized and keep my art room in line. You know, put my laundry away when it dries, making my bed everyday, and not letting the dishes pile up. Right now, my art room is my office for my full time job too, so my goal is to hold myself accountable in keeping my home and art room organized!

2. More creative writing
  • One of my goals in 2021 was to write at least one blog a month for the year - that didn't pan out since I got married in December, but that is okay :) Life got a little busy and it happens. So for 2022, I'd like to do more creative writing using my blog on CatchallCreatives.com as the platform. Creative writing, for me, is inspired by reading books - one of my personal goals is to read at least 10 books this year. I have some other cool creative writing ideas as well, so we'll see where those ideas take my creative writing this year! Which brings us to my next 2022 goal:

3. Turn ideas into reality
  • Starting off around a year ago, I was really hesitant to create my ideas. I didn't have every single detail figured out with my business and marketing strategy, my website wasn't ~perfect~, I wasn't sure if I'd get an audience interested in my art, etc. This year, I want to be strategic with my projects and not feel as scattered. Create a project plan/calendar and stick with it.

4. Dive into photography
  • Throughout this past year, I've mentioned 'Catchall Captures' as an entity of CC, but this year I want to really dive in a learn more about it and start mastering that skill. I started practicing with the camera by taking pictures of my art, pictures for the website, my dog Harper... but I want to start building portfolios and see where it goes! 2022 will definitely be a building year!

5. Branding improvements
  • This can go alongside with artistic style improvements too - but I would like to improve the look of CC and be more consistent with the marketing. More to come on that!

6. Learn new things
  • While improving my craft and navigating my way through this art journey, I want to be a sponge and learn from other people. The goal here is to build relationships with other artists of different mediums to learn a new perspective.

We'll check back in throughout the year to see what progress has been made! I would love to hear more about your goals and goal making process. Comment on this post and share what you want to accomplish in 2022! Cheers to the new year :)
