What Is Catchall Creatives?

In the first blog post I talked about my "why" for Catchall Creatives, but now I want to talk about the work that I'm actually wanting to do :)

When I was first thinking of names for this creative outlet, my first thought was to just use my name and then slap "art" at the end of it, but to no avail that username was already taken lol I brainstormed for sometime and when I thought about one of the reasons I wanted to start this, one word clicked in my head!

One of the things that keeps me motivated to continue creating is to learn about all kinds of art mediums. I didn't want to narrow it down to just watercolors, or just acrylic, or just pencil drawings, ect. While that sounds like a broad objective (doing multiple mediums), I felt like the word "catchall" really compartmentalized all those different artistic skills.

I said the name multiple times in a row and it really started to sound pretty good! So I just rolled with Catchall Creatives :)

If you have a vision, I want to either make it happen or learn how to make it happen.

I've never really felt comfortable posting my artwork, but this outlet helped me rip the band-aid off to start sharing something that I love to do. One thing that helped me start was my future mother-in-law actually - she runs a cute shop called Store 34 up in Blair, SC and she put one of my paintings in her store (my first painting to ever be in a store as a matter of fact). I had always wanted to have my artwork in a store, and that was honestly a dream come true! (Y'all go check out Store 34 on Facebook!!)

The painting that was in Store 34 and that sold within the day it was put on display, is actually my Catchall Creatives logo. It not only represents my first EVER sold painting, but it symbolizes growth, and also brings so much joy due to that growth!

I have a ways to go, by my goodness what a fun start it has been!!
